Karissa's short dark hair covered her eyes as she stared back at her parents. What was the point of explaining? Karissa had no idea that it would come this soon... Judgment Day in a sense. Her parents seemed to loom over her, as if she had gone back in time to her childhood days. You see, a couple months back she had decided to join the Army, and in her parents eyes; She had just signed up for her own death. For you see, there was no way SHE could succeed. No way she'd make it through training, never mind war. But as it seems, she HAD made it through training, and was now on her way to a flag ceremony in Southern California. "The States" as they called them, were often full of adventure, or so she heard.
"I'm leaving," Karissa stated solemnly, grabbing her slightly heavy carrier bag. She lugged it behind her, struggling to hold on to it and manage the door knob at the same time.
Karissa's friends, who she'd met in training, where waiting outside.
"Hurry up!" Seth's deep voice seemed to rumble the ground. His normal voice would have to be at least 2 or 3 times louder and deeper then the average male's...and when he yelled... Boy, you wanted to turn the other direction. Karissa, however, was used to this.
"Calm down," Karissa struggled to get out the words, for the weight of her bag seemed to be getting heavier and heavier as she spoke. "A little help?!"
Kenny and Seth seemed to rush out of the car towards her, in a speed race to be the one who helped. Kenny got there first. He grabbed the bag, and with little effort threw it into the back of the convertible.

Oh, this part of you ID that says: I like rainy, yet sunny days. I like dancing outside on those days, because it seems to lighten my soul a little.
I love days like that too! ^^
